AliMed® Weight Capacity Labels

:
AliMed® Weight Capacity Labels

AliMed® Weight Capacity Labels give staff the ability to easily recognize weight capacity of equipment, while maintaining patient dignity.  Helps increase safety because the weight capacity label of many pieces of equipment are hard to read or are entirely rubbed off.  Also helps facilities meet the criteria for SRC Centers of Excellence for Bariatric Centers.* These 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” acrylic-coated, self-adhesive vinyl labels with large type can be seen 6 - 8 feet away for those with normal vision.

Patient dignity is maintained by giving the weight capacity discretely.  A pleasant image of a bird and a number, for example, “40”, represents a 400 lb capacity. Weight capacities that are not an even multiple of 100, for example, 450 lbs, should be labeled with the next lower even number, in this case, the 40 sticker. Spray and wipe with disinfectants. The strong adhesive can be safely applied to flat or curved surfaces on:
Wood: chairs, crutches, rehabilitation treatment tables
Metal : wheelchairs, walkers, canes, patient lifts
Plastic: patient shifters, transfer boards
Vinyl: wheelchairs, geri-chairs

* Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) requires that facilities have equipment available for morbidly obese patients and that all staff members can easily recognize the weight capacity for each piece of equipment.
